Esta semana os hemos estado informando y mostrando las nuevas tendencias para la temporada Primavera-Verano 2016 de varios desfiles del 080 Barcelona Fashion, pero aún tenemos mucho más para enseñaros: ¡El backstage y el village!
Como ya sabéis, este año el 080 se ubicó en el Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys, lo cual tiene una ventaja y una contrapartida en el caso de los de prensa, a pesar que el tema de ir escalera arriba y escalera abajo lo hemos sufrido todos. Esta ubicación permitió que los espacios fueran bastante amplios tanto la pasarela, village y backstage, pero hubo algunas diferencias ya que los asistentes que accedían a los desfiles tenían el escenario situado de frente, con pantallas situadas frontalmente, mientras que los de prensa veíamos las pantallas lateralmente. De modo que el hecho de no poder ver lo mismo que los asistentes desde la zona de prensa nos complicaba el trabajo, por ejemplo en algunos casos los diseñadores tan solo saludaron al público y solo pudimos captar la foto de ellos de lado. Además todo eso se juntaba con el increíble calor, pero ya se sabe es verano y en Barcelona el sol aprieta.
Por suerte en el Open Área tenían zonas con sombrillas y regalaban sombreros para combatir el sol. El Open Área era accesible para cualquiera que no tuviera invitación para ver alguno de los desfiles y en esta ocasión presentó varias novedades. Contaba con una zona de Pop up stores en representación de pequeñas marcas locales de ropa, complementos y calzado, donde se podían encontrar diseños originales y exclusivos.
Además algo que se agradeció bastante fue el hecho de contar con una zona gastronómica, llamada Street Food, en el interior del mismo recinto. Esto nos salvó la vida, ya que al acabar de tomar fotos podíamos salir al Open Área y decidir cuál de los Food trucks satisfacía nuestras necesidades. Y contábamos con 7 opciones que proporcionaban deliciosos bocados a los asistentes, aunque algunos de los Food Trucks tenían unos precios que personalmente consideramos excesivos. Los invitados a esta primera edición del Street Food fueron Reina Croqueta, Pizza Truck, Maria Una Crep, Ham on Wheels, Gela’t, Fileteando y Butipà.
A pesar de que Barcelona no es Nueva York ni Londres, durante los días del desfile pudimos ver cómo la gente se soltaba más y apostaba por conjuntos atrevidos, de modo que contábamos con las mejores fuentes de inspiración y el mejor street-style.
Por otra parte queremos enseñaros el backstage, que es una zona que no todo el mundo puede ver y nos sentimos muy afortunadas de haber podido acceder y compartirlo con vosotros. En el backstage se encontraba un equipo de profesionales increíble, como por ejemplo el equipo de Redken. Y lo que más nos gusta del backstage son las experiencias y emociones que se viven, las prisas para cumplir los tiempos, los nervios, las bromas entre desfile y desfile, el trato con los modelos… simplemente es toda una experiencia y un punto de vista distinto a lo que estamos acostumbrados.
Para acabar queremos felicitar a Celia Vela y a su equipo que recibió el premio a la mejor colección de esta edición. Fue un placer asistir al desfile y a su backstage y ver el increíble trabajo realizado. Además volvimos a encontrarnos con el ilustrador Joel Miñana, que conocimos en la Barcelona Bridal Week y nos volvió a enamorar con su increíble trabajo.

This week we’ve been informing you and showing you the new Spring-Summer 2016 tendencies from several 080 Barcelona Fashion catwalks, but we still have much more things to show you. The backstage and the village!
As you already know, this year the 080 was located in the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, something that had some advantages and some drawbacks if you are press, even though everybody suffered the fact of constantly going up stairs and downs stairs. This location permitted large spaces, such as the runway, the village and the backstage, but there were some differences because the audience that get into the fashion show had the stage right in front of them, with screens placed frontally, while in the press area we saw the screens sideways. So, the fact of being unable to see the same as the audience from the press area made our work more complicated, for example some of the designers just greet the audience and we could only capture the picture of them sideways. What is more, all this adds up to the incredible heat, but it’s summer and it’s known that in Barcelona the sun it’s hot.
Luckily in the Open area they had areas with sunshades and they gave hats which help to avoid the sun. The open area was accessible to anyone who didn’t have an invitation to see the fashion shows and this time presented some innovations. It had a Pop up stores area that represented small local brands of clothing, accessories and footwear, where original and exclusive designs could be found.
Moreover, something that we really thanked was the fact of having a gastronomic area, called Street Food, inside the same enclosure. This really saved us, because after taking pictures we could go to the Open area and decide which one of the food trucks met our needs. And we counted with 7 options which offered a wide range of delicious products to the attendants, although from our point of view, some of the food trucks had excessive prices. The guests to this first edition street food were Reina Croqueta, Pizza Truck, Maria Una Crep, Ham on Wheels, Gela’t, Fileteando and Butipà.
Despite Barcelona is not New York or London, during the catwalk days we could see how the people let go and wore more daring outfits, so we counted with the best sources of inspiration and the best street-style.
On the other hand, we want to show you the backstage, that is an area that not everybody can see, and we feel really fortunate to have been able to access and to share it with you. In the backstage there was an amazing team of professionals, such as the Redken team. And what we like the most about the backstage are the experiences and the emotions lived, the hurries in order to follow the timings, the nerves, the jokes between runways, the interaction with the models… it is simple an incredible experience and a different point of view in comparison to what we are used to.
Finally, we want to congratulate Celia Vela and her team, that received an award as the best collection of this edition. It was a pleasure to attend to her runway and the backstage, and see the amazing job done. Moreover, we met again with the illustrator Joel Miñana, who we met in the Barcelona Bridal Week, and we falled in love again with his wonderful work.
